Graduating Senior Hopes to Keep Making Music

Westmont graduating senior Sarah Hooker, a music composition major, has provided her original composition for Psalm 121, which Brad Elliott, campus photographer, has paired with a slideshow of Westmont and Santa Barbara in spring.
Sarah, who lives in Quartz Hill, California, will be mentoring and tutoring children through the AmeriCorp City Year program beginning in July. She is considering applying to grad schools for the fall of 2021 to pursue a master’s degree in some form of music composition, potentially film score composing.
“Music is such a huge part of my life, and I can’t see myself stopping,” she says. “I hope to be able to share my music with others and use it as an encouragement to them in any capacity I’m able as God shapes my future.”
